China Electrical Equipment’s “Key Technology for New Relay Protection System” passed the appraisal!
Recently, the “Key Technology of New Relay Protection System Adapted to High-proportion New Energy Power Supply Integration” jointly completed by Xuji Electric, a subsidiary of China Electrical Equipment, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Research Institute, passed the technical achievement appraisal organized by the China Electrical Engineering Society. The overall project results are at the leading international level
The project technical appraisal committee consists of Academician Yang Qixun, State Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center, China Southern Power Grid Electric Power Dispatching and Control Center, China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Central China Branch, State Grid Beijing Electric Power Research Institute, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Tianjin University, North China Electric Power University It is composed of experts from , Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shandong University and other units.
The project is geared towards the construction of new power systems. It conducts in-depth research on the fault characteristics of new power systems with high proportion of new energy access, relay protection adaptability, new relay protection principles and new system architecture, and has achieved a series of original results.
01 Innovatively proposes a comprehensive fault direction identification method that adapts to scenarios where different types of new energy sources are connected to the power grid, improving the reliability and selectivity of relay protection.
02 Innovatively proposes a fast protection technology for transmission lines with a high proportion of new energy power connected to the power grid, which improves the quickness and sensitivity of relay protection.
03 Innovatively proposed a new relay protection system scheme for information interconnection between directly connected electrical substations, which significantly improved the reliability of backup protection for a high proportion of new energy power sources connected to the power grid.
The relay protection devices and system solutions developed in the project have been applied in multiple substation projects, improving the safe operation level of regional power grids with a high proportion of new energy sources.
In recent years, Xuji Electric has focused on new power system protection and control new technology products, formed a relatively systematic new power system relay protection solution, and developed 800E series protection control devices, 800G series safe and controllable protection control devices, PAC- The 8900 AC and DC power grid security and stability control system, key technologies and systems for fast power coordination control of new energy stations, and many other achievements have helped the construction of new power systems and the realization of the “double carbon” strategic goal.
