What Is the Electric Meter Lifespan?
What is Blue Jay Technology Electric meter lifespan? It is between 5 years and 10 years. besides, you can learn the factors that affect the electric meter lifespan.
The energy meter wiring diagram is important for energy meter installation. As you know, the energy meter wiring depends on the number of phases in the power system and the type of energy meter. In general, residential and small commercial electricity, single-phase and three-phase energy meters are common. For large commercial and industrial electricity, a three-phase four-wire wiring may be involved. This article will introduce the energy meter wiring diagram from single phase energy meter wiring diagram, three phase energy meter wiring diagram, and Blue Jay technology energy meter wiring diagram.
A single-phase energy meter is a device used to measure electrical energy consumption in a single-phase circuit, and its wiring method is relatively simple. The following is the general wiring method for single-phase electricity meters:
Incoming and outgoing lines:
The electric meter has two main terminals, one for the incoming wire (connected to the power supply) and the other for the outgoing wire (connected to the electrical equipment).
Phase and neutral lines:
There are usually two voltage lines, one is called the phase line and the other is called the neutral line.
The phase wires are connected to the phases of the power supply and the neutral wire is connected to the neutral wire of the power supply.
As for three-phase energy meter wiring, there are 3P3W (three-phase three-wire) and 3P4W (three-phase four-wire). In 3 phase energy meter connection diagram has three current wires (Phase A, Phase B, Phase C) and a neutral wire. Usually, phase A, phase B, and phase C are connected to the three power phases respectively, and the neutral line is connected to the neutral line of the power supply. Precautions:
In the 3 phase 4 wire energy meter connection diagram, the number of current and voltage wires of the energy meter increases accordingly. Besides, you are sure to connect the current wires for each phase correctly, as well as the current wire to neutral.
Blue Jay technology’s energy meter can be divided into single phase and three phase energy meters. The energy meter wiring principle is similar to the above energy meter wiring method. But some energy meter may be a bite of difference in details. Here are some energy meter wiring diagrams of our multi-circuit energy meter and modular energy meter.
Our MCM2600 series multi-circuit energy meter (3 phase 3 wire energy meter) needs short Ub and Un external in 3P3W wiring.
MCM2400 series energy meter wiring diagram is 3 phase 3 wire, or 1 phase 2 wire.
Our MCM1000 series energy meter wiring diagram are 1 phase 2 wire or 3 phase 3 wire.
MCM400 series energy meter wiring diagram is 3 phase 4 wire, 3 phase 3 wire, or 1 phase 2 wire.
The 19D-NX series modular energy meter wiring diagram is 3 3-phase 4 wire or 1-phase 2 wire.
In practical applications, the appropriate energy meter type and energy meter wiring method can be selected according to the specific power system and needs. The accuracy and compliance of wiring are critical to the accuracy of energy metering and the safety of the system.
It is recommended to refer to relevant electrical codes and standards when wiring, or to consult a professional electrical engineer for advice.
