State Grid Baihetan Hydropower Station West-to-East Power Transmission Phase II project put into operation to help Hangzhou develop
On April 30th, the State Grid Baihetan-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV DC transmission project (hereinafter referred to as “Baihetan-Zhejiang UHV Project”) 500 kV matching sent out the second phase of the Renhe-Qiaosi line, which marked the Baihe The eight circuits of 500 kV clean energy transmission channels in the Zhebei converter station of the Tan-Zhejiang ±800 kV UHV project have all been completed, with an annual transmission of more than 30 billion kWh of electricity, reducing carbon emissions by 19.19 million tons, and increasing power for the peak power consumption this summer guarantee.
The Baihetan-Zhejiang UHV project is the first UHV DC project to be constructed during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period. It is a major project that implements the national “West-to-East Electricity Transmission” strategy and helps Zhejiang to create an “important window”. The external power receiving capacity is 8 million kilowatts, effectively enhancing Zhejiang’s power supply capacity, ensuring economic development and people’s livelihood electricity demand, further promoting clean, low-carbon and green energy development, and accelerating the realization of the “double carbon” goal.
It is understood that, according to the plan, the Baihetan-Zhejiang UHV Zhebei Converter Station 500 kV supporting transmission project will be interrupted and disconnected 8 times in the middle. In October last year, the 500kV Pingyao-Wangdian line was disconnected and connected to 4 circuits in the middle. This time, the 500kV Renhe-Qiaosi line was disconnected and connected to 4 circuits in the middle, marking the 8 The 500 kV supporting sending line has been fully completed.
The 500 kV line from Renhe to Qiaosi was put into operation in 2008. The power transmission capacity can no longer meet the UHV power transmission requirements of Baihe. Employees of Zhejiang Electric Power accelerated the construction of supporting 500 kV transmission projects, built a new Renhe-Qiaosi line and connected it to the Qiantang River Converter Station at the Baizhe UHV receiving end.
“The main difficulty in construction is that there are many difficult crossing operations.” Su Xiangrui, the project chief engineer of Zhejiang Provincial Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd., said that because some line sections involve crossing high-speed and high-speed railways, in order to ensure the safety of crossing construction, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. Employees use mobile scalable two-way rotary spanning frame and centralized control intelligent visual stretching equipment, and innovate the net sealing and lifting technology to shorten the spanning operation time. In one month, State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power employees erected 60 towers and 38.7 kilometers of lines in Hangzhou.
“After the Baihetan-Zhejiang UHV 500 kV supporting transmission project is put into operation, it will ensure that the water and power supply of the Jinsha River will be continuously sent to Hangzhou.” Yan Bao, an employee of State Grid Hangzhou Power Supply Company, introduced. The second phase of the 500 kV supporting transmission project has laid a solid foundation for the high-end operation of the Baihetan-Zhejiang UHV DC project. To ease the pressure on supply and demand during peak electricity consumption in summer.
With the improvement of the power transmission capacity of the Baizhe UHV Project, the maximum receiving capacity of Zhejiang’s external power has reached about 40%. “The project can also cooperate with the existing Lingshao and Binjin UHV projects in East China to increase the proportion of clean energy consumption in Zhejiang.” Zheng Liwei, the project leader of State Grid Zhejiang Construction Company, said that the project will contribute to the high-quality development of Zhejiang. Build a “Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone” to provide strong energy security.
