Working principle

The device is based on a capacitive voltage detecting system (VDIS), the phase conductors of the medium-voltage network are coupled via a capacitive voltage divider. The coupling unit (C1) picks up an electric field proportional to the primary system voltage and transmits a low-energy signal through a shielded coaxial cable to the indicator unit.

The indicator (C2) processes the coupled signal and provides phase-wise voltage presence indication, including voltage present, nominal voltage present, and overvoltage conditions. The system operates without galvanic connection to the high-voltage circuit, providing reinforced isolation through capacitive coupling principles.
