Features

High-Speed Tripping for arc flash protection
The AFR-M arc flash protection relay provide a total trip time of less than 10ms for busbar faults and circuit breaker failure protection. Thus, it can send a trip signal to the circuit breaker as fast as possible.

Busbar Arc Flash Protection
Busbar arc flash is most likely to occur in busbar room, circuit breaker room, cable room and busbar cabinet, where insulators, conductor connections, switchgear, cable joints and other locations are potential arc flash sources. The AFR-M Arc flash protection relay is designed to monitor the busbar sections within a power system for potential arc fault occurrences. This advanced arc flash relay can monitor up to 48 busbar sections in single-phase, three-phase, or distributed configuration.
RS48 and Ethernet Communication
The AFR-M arc flash relay are with 2 RS485 ports and 2 Ethernet ports that support IEC60870-5-103 communication. It communicates via Modbus TCP, DNP3 LAN/WAN, Telnet, FTP, or IEC 61850 too. Moreover, You also can customize extra monitoring functions by RS485 connection, including Bus temperature monitoring (wireless), Partial Discharge monitoring sensor (TEV), and smoke sensor.

Current & Light Sensing for Arc Flash Detection
The current sensing of AFR-M is through four 3-phase current signal input, monitoring 3 group of current for the phase and ground instantaneous overcurrent elements. Lighting sensing is through arc flash sensors including point sensor or fiber loop sensors. Or lighting sensing by pressure sensor. with 3 arc flash expansion modules option, the AFR-M arc flash protection system supports up to 48 arc flash sensor connection. Each arc flash expansion module support 12 arc flash sensors connection. The combination of light and current detection provides the ideal solution for arc-flash mitigation.

In addition above features, AFR-M Arc Flash Relay is a panel mounting design with rugged aluminum shell and LCD screen Display for integrated data. You also can set localized language of HMI.16* passive DI point indicates CB status. 9* trip contacts are free to configuration protect trip logic. Independent trip act and alarm act is equipped for this arc flash protection relay. OEM and add customized program for special VCB control and protection logic.
